I cut my first tooth today!!

Elijah cut his first tooth last night!! I took these pictures this morning to send to dad at work, so I figured I'd share them with you too. There is just a sliver of his bottom right tooth cutting through the gum line. It's got a ways to go, but our boy is growing up so fast. Enjoy the smiles.

Baths, eating and pooping

A few random pics...

Elijah in his puppy robe after his bath one night

Elijah's first carrot/parsnip...he really likes it!

All the solids make for some difficult pushing and constipation sometimes. This doesn't capture the true red faced pooping face but it sure is cute.

Sleeping soundly

This picture represents what our nights have looked like this week!! Elijah has been sleeping so well at night and for his naps! We started putting him to bed about an hour earlier and he's sleeping later in the morning now too. He sleeps about 12 hours/night and usually wakes up to feed once between 4 or 6am. The weeks before this he was waking up about 5 times a night...we were close to the cry it out method, but it seems the earlier bedtime has worked. Much easier on us! I just love how he has his feet crossed in this picture. So precious.

6 month birthday - June 14th

We celebrated Elijah's 6 month birthday on Thursday...had a little photo session, got lots of cute ones. It was difficult to choose just a couple and capture some of his favorite expressions. He's sitting up by himself now, although you still have to stay close because he will try to reach for something too far away and fall on his head. Usually this happens after 10 or so minutes into the sitting up. I'm trying to convince Bruce to do the 6 month report card....I could use some help that this is something that you're interested in reading. ???

Arnold Arboretum Part 1

We took a trip to Arnold Arboretum, about 15 minutes from our house when Bruce's mom was in town last weekend. We couldn't believe we hadn't been here before...so close to us and so beautiful. It's this huge arboretum with lots of paved paths to walk/jog/bike/rollerblade on, and lots of small unpaved trails to explore. We walk around for a few hours, then sat on a blanket on the hill and enjoyed some family time and lots of pictures. Here are just a few to preview. We had a good time, hope you enjoy!

We tried to get some good family pictures, but in each one, someone had a funny face or was cut off or something. In this one, clearly it's Bruce looking like a monster. I think he was trying to eat Elijah.

A smile that can melt hearts

Arnold Arboretum Part 2

Us with the rhododendrons

So many beautiful little paths to explore..we found this creek at one path.

Walking the paths - most of the time we used the stroller, but he was fun to hold for parts of it

I'm cool

Gramma was in town this past weekend - more pics and updates on that to come. She bought Elijah some sunglasses, which he doesn't mind wearing at all. The only time he knows they're there are when he starts rubbing his eyes when he's tired. Ain't he cute??

Avo-nana

Elijah likes avocado-banana. The other day right before bath time we let him try to feed himself. The pictures give you an idea of how it progressed:

Here we were thinking, wow - he's doing it on his own!

He's happy to get to do it all by himself

The whole spoon thing just takes too long, I'll just chug it down.

Or spill it all over everything and rub my grimey hands all over my face while I'm at it! At least he had fun!!

Got milk?

Just thought this pic was cute of how his little body contorts when he reaches for something.

Clearly this kid likes his milk!

How I love these mornings...

Every great once in a while after Elijah wakes up in the morning and I feed him, he will go back to sleep in the bed with me. I like how he snuggles up next to you, and he'll stroke your arm or his head as he's falling asleep..it's just precious. I love those mornings (or sometimes afternoons if we take a nap together).
