Elijah is starting the age where he wants to be IN CONTROL of everything -- what he's eating and how he's eating it, what he's playing with and where he's playing with it, and on and on. To get him to stay away from certain things -- like the bookshelf which is a current favorite because he pulls all the books off -- I've said NO sternly and even squeezed his hand a bit to let him know that I'm in control. He still just
laughs at me....he laughs! When he's getting his way, he's happy as a clam...otherwise, he whines. He doesn't like to be fed -- he wants to do it all himself, which makes for quite the MESS!
To a certain extent we've let him do a little more of what he wants this last week because he's been sick and pretty miserable. He had a fever to 102 degrees since Sunday, took him to the doctor on Tuesday and he said it's probably viral so nothing I can do except keep giving Tylenol and Motrin. Then Wednesday he broke out in a rash all over his face, chest and back and finally the fever is gone! Classic
roseola. Now just waiting for the rash to clear and we can go back out in public and rejoin the human race.
Did your kiddos go through this stage (I'm hoping it's just a stage......right?) and how can I help him know I'm the one in control?? For now, some recent pics:

But he loooooooves being able to feed himself.

A little of this, a little of that

Thanks, mom.

And here he is getting into the bookshelf....he has that "who me?" look on his face

He flips through all the books...one day he'll know this book is upside down. For now, either way will do. **Love those squeezable cheeks!**
