Trip into the city

Last week we took our last trip into Boston for a while. Our hope was to see some beautiful fall foliage, but I think we were a weekend too early. Only about 25% of the trees had started to change color. We enjoyed walking up Marlborough St, Newbury St and around the Public Gardens. We stopped at JP Licks on Newbury St to have some of our favorite ice cream - and Elijah even had some! He ate some of mom's favorite - black raspberry - and LOVED LOVED it. He kept lunging for more. Here are some of the pics:

You can see just a hint of the colors of the trees in the background.

He was so excited after the ice cream!

Pics update!

No time to do a formal blog, but wanted to give a couple pics real quick.

Happy Fall!

Elijah's backpack - he's ready for school!

Elijah fell asleep while eating the other day - so funny. We have a video where he's we woke him up and he opens his eyes and goes right back to eating like "what, I wasn't sleeping"

Some cute...and some, well not so much

Elijah at our friends the Pucci's house pushing a car around their backyard. He walked up and down their backyard pushing this toy. Gramma, do you recognize the outfit? Cute huh?

Smiling and pushing.

Elijah in his PJ's flipping through books. This is one that he needs help with turning the pages so that he doesn't bend or tear the pages up. The board books are great at this age.
**Wow, this picture REALLY emphasizes his chubby cheeks!!! Our friend's kid Caleb who is 3 1/2 years old calls Elijah "chunker chunker" - how endearing! :)

OK This picture is for the fashion faux pas -- Bruce dressed Elijah in this outfit (picked out all on his own, cant you tell!) and thought he looked cute. Do you see what I'm living with?! At least Elijah didn't know the difference. But I did.

P.S. No comments anymore? I guess we've gotten boring....any suggestions on blog topics? It seems all we blog about anymore is Elijah. Imagine that! :)

A few of Elijah's favorite things to do

These are a few of Elijah's most recent favorite things to do or play with in this 9 month stage of his life:

BALLS, BALLS, BALLS!! Picking up, throwing, crawling after, bouncing, repeat!

Climbing!!

He used to have NO interest in books, then all of a sudden we would find him sitting quietly on the floor flipping through book after book by himself. How wonderful!

He only has a little patience to have a book read to him at this point..he would rather flip the pages back and forth and be in control.

THE PARK! Elijah loves the SWING! He's smiling almost the whole time he's being pushed. :)

The SLIDE! He gets the biggest smile when he goes down the slide, then rolls over and tries to crawl back up the slide to do it again.

A big favorite these days is practicing walking with his "lawnmower" walker. We don't really have a long stretch of area to practice at the house, so we take him to the park and he loves it! This video was taken almost 2 weeks ago and he's even gotten better since this was taken.

DOGGIES!!! This one very well could be his #1 favorite thing lately. We got him his first stuffed animal - a "doggie" because he LOOOOVES watching dogs outside, looking at pictures of dogs, and really loves the baby sign for dogs (tongue hanging out panting). This was the first baby sign that he did - when he sees a dog even from across the room, he gets so excited and crawls towards it panting. He loves kissing his doggie, carrying him everywhere, and when he's grouchy the doggie can usually make him happy again.

Recent Pics

I have a confession. I gave Elijah a lick of my fudge pop and (like his mother) he adores chocolate! After he had a couple licks, I gave him the popsicle stick and he carried it around with him for almost an hour. These are some pictures from this event:

My how big you're getting!
