I don't know if Elijah is going through teething or what -- he wants to chew on EVERYTHING. Any toy you give him goes directly to his mouth for him to lick, suck, bite or chew on. He's also been pretty fussy the last couple days, especially while nursing. I read that these can be signs of teething, but I'm not convinced. He's not even 4 months old yet! He seems to really like frozen wet washcloths, ice cubes, fingers (his or ours), his duck, red bird, lion or elephant. Really he's not too picky - as long as it stays in his mouth.

(he's wearing a diaper -- I'm not that brave!)

Well, I'm sure you guys have heard that Elijah will be exploring the world with his mouth for a while. But the drooling and the fussing? Sounds like teething to me! The teeth may not show for another month or two, but he'll most likely continue to fuss on and off and he'll want things in his mouth constantly. Three cheers for a wet washcloth wrapped around your finger (my favorite teething treat) and lots of baby Motrin! (It's OK to drug 'em once in a while...). Also, holding him in an upright position will help if he's really fussy, as back and tummy positions put extra pressure on those sore gums. (Try tilting your head to the back and to the front, then holding it upright. See what I mean?)
Love the pics that Crystal took. Especially the toes! You guys make one cute family!
