Madrid, Spain

We took a trip to Madrid a few weeks ago...what a beautiful city!! It reminded us a bit of downtown Boston, and we got to enjoy a few Starbucks drinks which was worth the trip in itself to us! We celebrated Bruce's 28th birthday there (he's in denial that he's almost 30 years old, I think it's funny). We spent a whole day walking around and seeing all the sights because this was our first time to Spain. We walked for almost 8 hours....and Elijah was such a trooper in the stroller, only throwing a few fits. He had the grouchiest look on his face when we didn't give in to his fits, like he was so defeated to still be in the stroller. We went to an orchestrated fireworks/light show late one night and we put Elijah on Bruce's shoulders so he could see over the crowds, and he LOVED all the lights and fireworks. Then we looked back and he was dead asleep with Bruce's head as his pillow...even through all the fireworks! Poor kid's sleep schedule was all messed up on the trip.

We were so exhasted after our long day of walking and Elijah was asleep in the stroller, so we went to a lovely park and took a family nap in the grass and listened to these beautiful birds.
